Nature of Management

There cannot be a business without management, a business without management leads to improper management of resources of that business at the end it leads to insolvency of that business. A central directing and coordinating agency is indispensable for a business concern, cos it functions as the mind and the brain in the human body without the mind, the human body is nothing but just a collection of flesh and bones which are capable of achieving nothing so it is with business.

Collection of physical equipment material, labour and capital will by itself, lead to nothing for efficient functioning it is of necessity that all those factors are put to work in a coordinated manner which makes it the function of management to use the resources of result in such a way possible to meet the needs of growth and expansion.

It is management that provides planning, organization and direction which are necessary for business operation be it the manager of a small firm or the board of directors of a company, it is the function of the people responsible for management (called the management or managers) to chalk out the course that the business firm will follow the activities it will undertake.

Management itself is a universally necessary concept which makes it essential for all kinds of organizations, both in business and non-business activities. This is so because every organization must require the act of taking decision, the need for coordinating various activities, the handling and evaluation of people’s performance, particularly as directed towards its objectives these task are performed by that responsible person called manager.

The manager is responsible to bringing the principal resources Human Talent into combination with other non-human resources, such as machine, materials and money. Management is seen in a three perspective which are

Management as a function: taking a look at management all organization be it business either social or political purpose all are essentially group of individuals form for just one purpose or common objectives. A business enterprises aims at maximizing its profits through an increase in its outputs sales.

Management as responsibility for getting things done: this definition of management emphasizes the accomplishment of tasks through the effects of people. It also create a clear distinction between those who have to work to performed the assigned and those who have to take step to see that this other category works effectively.
